Among martial artists, regardless the style, there seems to be a common factor that is universal through out the
growth of a teacher / instructor. That common factor is the growth of awareness towards health, both mentally
and physically. It is not uncommon to see a student who wishes to become teacher in Chuan Fa begin studies
that involve medicine in some form or another. Dr. Dennis Fitch, N.D. is no different.
Dr. Dennis Fitch is a board-certified doctor of naturopathy, which is the practice of healing
through the use of non-invasive natural modalities, or therapies. Naturopaths, unlike other doctors, practice
bringing the bodies’ natural healing ability to an optimum level through the use of nutrition and natural herbs, which
enhance the Chi. Coupled with acupressure Chi will flow freely through out the body bringing the bodies’
homeostasis back to balance. Dr. Fitch also holds a M.S. in Exercise Physiology and a B.S. in Sports Science.
Dr. Fitch’s martial arts biography is equally impressive. He is a martial arts teacher
of the highest caliber, often the primary instructor at seminars through out the United States; especially, in the south -
east region of the country. He has taught self-defense tactics to special operations combat rangers,
and close quarter defense to regional police departments. It is with the power of knowledge, obtained from
decades of studying martial arts, that Dr. Fitch is bestowed the honor of training such organizations. Not
only does he teach special organizations, he also hosts numerous kinds of seminars, ranging in Qi Gong and vibrational healing,
to Kinesiology and Natural Health. Dr. Fitch is the founder of the Shaolin Chuan Fa Association, and the
senior teacher. Even though Chuan Fa is beneficial to practitioners of all ages, Dr. Fitch had the foresight
to separate the art into two categories; allowing his pupils to elect which aspect that they wish to focus their studies on.
These two categories are known as Chuan Fa Kenpo and White Crane Tai Chi. These two categories are
one, and the same, when the art is fully studied, and practiced by the pupil in its entirety. When the
student begins his journey down the path of Shaolin Chuan Fa with the study of Kenpo, he is merely at the beginning of the
path. As the studies evolve, the student slowly transcends the many paths of Chuan Fa. When
the student reaches his black belt ranking is when his true training in the upper levels of Shaolin Chuan Fa begin.
It is here that Dr. Fitch allows the benefits of Tai Chi to excel for the pupil. It is with over
30 years as the senior teacher of Chuan Fa that has enabled Dr. Fitch to be so prolific with the art. Not
only is Dr. Fitch the senior teacher of Chuan Fa, he holds advanced teaching ranks (black belts) in the arts of Tang Soo Do
and Aikido. Dr. Fitch was made an honorary black belt over two decades ago in Tang Soo Do, and was certified
in Aikido by the Hombu Dojo in Japan.
